If spending an entire weekend knee-deep in your wardrobe sounds about as fun to you as watching paint dry, then this post is for you. Here’s a less terrifying, more spread out version that will have you sorted in just 5 days.

Day 1 – Clothes

  • Make 3 piles – keep, donate & fix.
  • Pull everything out, try each item on and be ruthless. Go with your gut, it’s always right.
  • Remove any items that are stained, damaged or badly worn.

Day 2 – Shoes

  • Make 3 piles – keep, donate & fix.
  • Remove any shoes that are stained, damaged or impractical.
  • Arrange into Spring/ Summer & Autumn/ Winter. Only replace the current season.

Day 3 – Accessories

  • Make 3 piles – keep, donate & fix.
  • Edit all jewellery, bags, hats, scarves & belts. Remove any items that are tarnished, tangled or damaged.
  • Sort fine jewellery from costume jewellery and keep separate.

Day 4 – Hanging

  • Hang clothes by category (tops, skirts, pants, blazers, coats, dresses etc.)
  • Group in colours.
  • Slim velvet hangers are best for saving valuable space.

Day 5 – Organising

  • Store jewellery by type (necklaces, earrings, bracelets etc.)
  • Group bags by style (totes, cross-body, clutch etc.) Store smaller bags inside larger bags to retain their shape.
  • Most worn shoes should be easily accessible.
  • Fold and/or roll denim jeans & knits.
  • Relocate out of season clothes.
