For the first time in my life, I’ve been consistent with exercise. I don’t exercise every day and each week can be different given that I have 2 kids but I aim for about 5 days a week and I have been doing exactly that for a good 2 years. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I change my workouts occasionally and I know this has a lot to do with why I’m still very consistent today.

When I’m feeling uninspired, I’m a big fan of 8-12 week challenges. I have completed a lot of these. I think they are a great way to re-ignite that motivation again. I have tried many different challenges (HIIT, Boxing, Abs, Booty, Post-Partum, Gym-Based, Home-Based) because I think it’s really important to try your hand at a number of different workout styles to find what works best for you and ultimately gives you the best results. From an outsider’s point of view, it probably looks like I’m all over the place with my fitness but there is a method to my madness. Personally, I enjoy shaking things up and this has been the difference between me giving up on exercise when I’m lacking motivation and me maintaining my fitness long-term.

The weather also plays a big part in this too. My favourite workouts are those that I can do outside but from the comfort of my own home, but when Winter rolls around, I find these hard to do and I have to really push myself to get it done. This is when I find it useful to switch things up – perhaps go to the gym, sign-up to boxing or join reformer pilates for the next few months until the warm weather returns.
